DAY 1: HANOI – THAC BA LAKE
Thac Ba Lake is one of three Vietnam’s manmade lakes and it is well-known for the first hydropower plant. Being built in 1970 by the construction of a dam on the Chay River, the lake has become an ideal destination for visitors who are interested in discovering the natural beauty of virgin rainforest, enjoy scenery of thousands of islands, and learn the lifestyle of the local ethnic minority groups. The trip starts from Hanoi at 8:00 AM. After about 3-hour drive, we will arrive at a village of a hill tribe where we will rest and lunch after the drive. In the afternoon, you will have a boat ride on Thac Ba Reservoir. The beautiful scenery with green mountains, flat water mirror will definitely amaze you. Dinner and overnight at a traditional stilt house of the eco-lodge.
DAY 2: THAC BA LAKE – NGHIA LO
This morning after the breakfast, we will take a short walk around Ngoi Tu village and learn about the medicinal plants that the Yao people have used for generations as their heath care treatment. After that, we will drive toward Nghia Lo. The road is a bit rough at times, but the scenery along the way is beautiful. There will be times for photo opportunities on the way when you want. Arrive at a village of Thai people in Muong Lo Valley and have lunch. In the afternoon, we will tour around the valley with either on foot or by bicycles to visit some villages and paddy fields. Dinner and overnight at the homestay.
DAY 3: NGHIA LO – TU LE – MU CANG CHAI
Today, we will move on to Tu Le after breakfast at the homestay. Arrive at Tu Le, we start trekking to Tu Le Valley, Lim Mong, Lim Thai. These are great valleys for an overview from Khau Pha Pass. In the afternoon, drive to Mu Cang Chai and spend the third night at another homestay. Dinner and overnight at the homestay.
DAY 4: CHE CU NHA – LA PAN TAN – TU LE
We spend most of the day for a long trek from Chu Cu Nha to La Pan Tan on small paths and back roads to admire the beautiful rice terraced fields. This is one of the core of the national rice terrace heritage. Picnic lunch on the way. You will get picked up by our driver between 3 PM and 4 PM for a short drive back to Tu Le town for the last night at a local hotel. Dinner and rest.
DAY 5: TU LE – HANOI
After breakfast, we will check out of the hotel and make our way back to Hanoi. Lunch is at a local restaurant on the way. The tour will finish at the door of your hotel in Hanoi.
